11.71
وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ قَآئِمَةٌ فَضَحِكَتْ فَبَشَّرْنَٰهَا بِإِسْحَٰقَ وَمِن وَرَآءِ إِسْحَٰقَ يَعْقُوبَ
English: Sahih International
And his Wife was standing, and she smiled. Then We gave her good tidings of Isaac and after Isaac, Jacob.
English: Transliteration
Waimraatuhu qaimatun fadahikat fabashsharnaha biishaqa wamin warai ishaqa yaAAqooba
French: Hamidullah
Sa femme était debout, et elle rit alors; Nous lui annonçâmes donc (la naissance d') Isaac, et après Isaac, Jacob.
11.72
قَالَتْ يَٰوَيْلَتَىٰٓ ءَأَلِدُ وَأَنَا۠ عَجُوزٌ وَهَٰذَا بَعْلِى شَيْخًا ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَىْءٌ عَجِيبٌ
English: Sahih International
She said, "Woe to me! Shall I give birth while I am an old woman and this, my husband, is an old man? Indeed, this is an amazing thing!"
English: Transliteration
Qalat ya waylata aalidu waana AAajoozun wahatha baAAlee shaykhan inna hatha lashayon AAajeebun
French: Hamidullah
Elle dit: «Malheur à moi! Vais-je enfanter alors que je suis vieille et que mon mari, que voici, est un vieillard? C'est là vraiment une chose étrange!»
11.73
قَالُوٓا۟ أَتَعْجَبِينَ مِنْ أَمْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ رَحْمَتُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَٰتُهُۥ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ ٱلْبَيْتِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَمِيدٌ مَّجِيدٌ
English: Sahih International
They said, "Are you amazed at the decree of Allah? May the mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you, people of the house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy and Honorable."
English: Transliteration
Qaloo ataAAjabeena min amri Allahi rahmatu Allahi wabarakatuhu AAalaykum ahla albayti innahu hameedun majeedun
French: Hamidullah
Ils dirent: «T'étonnes-tu de l'ordre d'Allah? Que la miséricorde d'Allah et Ses bénédictions soient sur vous, gens de cette maison! Il est vraiment, digne de louange et de glorification!»
11.74
فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَنْ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلرَّوْعُ وَجَآءَتْهُ ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ يُجَٰدِلُنَا فِى قَوْمِ لُوطٍ
English: Sahih International
And when the fright had left Abraham and the good tidings had reached him, he began to argue with Us concerning the people of Lot.
English: Transliteration
Falamma thahaba AAan ibraheema alrrawAAu wajaathu albushra yujadiluna fee qawmi lootin
French: Hamidullah
Lorsque l'effroi eut quitté Abraham et que la bonne nouvelle l'eut atteint, voilà qu'il discuta avec Nous (en faveur) du peuple de Lot.
11.75
إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ لَحَلِيمٌ أَوَّٰهٌ مُّنِيبٌ
English: Sahih International
Indeed, Abraham was forbearing, grieving and [frequently] returning [to Allah].
English: Transliteration
Inna ibraheema lahaleemun awwahun muneebun
French: Hamidullah
Abraham était, certes, longanime, très implorant et repentant.
11.76
يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ أَعْرِضْ عَنْ هَٰذَآ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ قَدْ جَآءَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ ۖ وَإِنَّهُمْ ءَاتِيهِمْ عَذَابٌ غَيْرُ مَرْدُودٍ
English: Sahih International
[The angels said], "O Abraham, give up this [plea]. Indeed, the command of your Lord has come, and indeed, there will reach them a punishment that cannot be repelled."
English: Transliteration
Ya ibraheemu aAArid AAan hatha innahu qad jaa amru rabbika wainnahum ateehim AAathabun ghayru mardoodin
French: Hamidullah
O Abraham, renonce à cela; car l'ordre de Ton Seigneur est déjà venu, et un châtiment irrévocable va leur arriver».
11.77
وَلَمَّا جَآءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًا سِىٓءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَصِيبٌ
English: Sahih International
And when Our messengers, [the angels], came to Lot, he was anguished for them and felt for them great discomfort and said, "This is a trying day."
English: Transliteration
Walamma jaat rusuluna lootan seea bihim wadaqa bihim tharAAan waqala hatha yawmun AAaseebun
French: Hamidullah
Et quand Nos émissaires (Anges) vinrent à Lot, il fut chagriné pour eux, et en éprouva une grande gêne. Et il dit: «Voici un jour terrible».
11.78
وَجَآءَهُۥ قَوْمُهُۥ يُهْرَعُونَ إِلَيْهِ وَمِن قَبْلُ كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِى هُنَّ أَطْهَرُ لَكُمْ ۖ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ فِى ضَيْفِىٓ ۖ أَلَيْسَ مِنكُمْ رَجُلٌ رَّشِيدٌ
English: Sahih International
And his people came hastening to him, and before [this] they had been doing evil deeds. He said, "O my people, these are my daughters; they are purer for you. So fear Allah and do not disgrace me concerning my guests. Is there not among you a man of reason?"
English: Transliteration
Wajaahu qawmuhu yuhraAAoona ilayhi wamin qablu kanoo yaAAmaloona alssayyiati qala ya qawmi haolai banatee hunna atharu lakum faittaqoo Allaha wala tukhzooni fee dayfee alaysa minkum rajulun rasheedun
French: Hamidullah
Quant à son peuple, ils vinrent à lui, accourant. Auparavant ils commettaient des mauvaises actions. Il dit: «O mon peuple, voici mes filles: elles sont plus pures pour vous. Craignez Allah donc, et ne me déshonorez pas dans mes hôtes. N'y a-t-il pas parmi vous un homme raisonnable?»
11.79
قَالُوا۟ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا لَنَا فِى بَنَاتِكَ مِنْ حَقٍّ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَعْلَمُ مَا نُرِيدُ
English: Sahih International
They said, "You have already known that we have not concerning your daughters any claim, and indeed, you know what we want."
English: Transliteration
Qaloo laqad AAalimta ma lana fee banatika min haqqin wainnaka lataAAlamu ma nureedu
French: Hamidullah
Ils dirent: Tu sais très bien que nous n'avons pas de droit sur tes filles. Et en vérité, tu sais bien ce que nous voulons».
11.80
قَالَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِى بِكُمْ قُوَّةً أَوْ ءَاوِىٓ إِلَىٰ رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ
English: Sahih International
He said, "If only I had against you some power or could take refuge in a strong support."
English: Transliteration
Qala law anna lee bikum quwwatan aw awee ila ruknin shadeedin
French: Hamidullah
Il dit: «[Ah!] si j'avais de la force pour vous résister! ou bien si je trouvais un appui solide!»
