Sura 16 - النحل (An-Nahl) - The Bee

16.111
يَوْمَ تَأْتِى كُلُّ نَفْسٍ تُجَٰدِلُ عَن نَّفْسِهَا وَتُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
English: Sahih International
On the Day when every soul will come disputing for itself, and every soul will be fully compensated for what it did, and they will not be wronged.
English: Transliteration
Yawma tatee kullu nafsin tujadilu AAan nafsiha watuwaffa kullu nafsin ma AAamilat wahum la yuthlamoona
French: Hamidullah
(Rappelle-toi) le jour où chaque âme viendra, plaidant pour elle-même, et chaque âme sera pleinement rétribuée pour ce qu'elle aura œuvré sans qu'ils subissent la moindre injustice.
16.112
وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًا قَرْيَةً كَانَتْ ءَامِنَةً مُّطْمَئِنَّةً يَأْتِيهَا رِزْقُهَا رَغَدًا مِّن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ فَكَفَرَتْ بِأَنْعُمِ ٱللَّهِ فَأَذَٰقَهَا ٱللَّهُ لِبَاسَ ٱلْجُوعِ وَٱلْخَوْفِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَصْنَعُونَ
English: Sahih International
And Allah presents an example: a city which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of Allah. So Allah made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing.
English: Transliteration
Wadaraba Allahu mathalan qaryatan kanat aminatan mutmainnatan yateeha rizquha raghadan min kulli makanin fakafarat bianAAumi Allahi faathaqaha Allahu libasa aljooAAi waalkhawfi bima kanoo yasnaAAoona
French: Hamidullah
Et Allah propose en parabole une ville: elle était en sécurité, tranquille; sa part de nourriture lui venait de partout en abondance. Puis elle se montra ingrate aux bienfaits d'Allah. Allah lui fit alors goûter la violence de la faim et de la peur [en punition] de ce qu'ils faisaient.
16.113
وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ
English: Sahih International
And there had certainly come to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they denied him; so punishment overtook them while they were wrongdoers.
English: Transliteration
Walaqad jaahum rasoolun minhum fakaththaboohu faakhathahumu alAAathabu wahum thalimoona
French: Hamidullah
En effet, un Messager des leurs est venu à eux, mais ils l'ont traité de menteur. Le châtiment, donc, les saisit parce qu'ils étaient injustes.
16.114
فَكُلُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ حَلَٰلًا طَيِّبًا وَٱشْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ
English: Sahih International
Then eat of what Allah has provided for you [which is] lawful and good. And be grateful for the favor of Allah, if it is [indeed] Him that you worship.
English: Transliteration
Fakuloo mimma razaqakumu Allahu halalan tayyiban waoshkuroo niAAmata Allahi in kuntum iyyahu taAAbudoona
French: Hamidullah
Mangez donc de ce qu'Allah vous a attribué de licite et de bon. Et soyez reconnaissants pour les bienfaits d'Allah, si c'est Lui que vous adorez.
16.115
إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّهِ بِهِۦ ۖ فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلَا عَادٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
English: Sahih International
He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit] - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
English: Transliteration
Innama harrama AAalaykumu almaytata waalddama walahma alkhinzeeri wama ohilla lighayri Allahi bihi famani idturra ghayra baghin wala AAadin fainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun
French: Hamidullah
Il vous a, en effet, interdit (la chair) de la bête morte, le sang, la chair de porc, et la bête sur laquelle un autre nom que celui d'Allah a été invoqué. Mais quiconque en mange sous contrainte, et n'est ni rebelle ni transgresseur, alors Allah est Pardonneur et Miséricordieux.
16.116
وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ لِمَا تَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُكُمُ ٱلْكَذِبَ هَٰذَا حَلَٰلٌ وَهَٰذَا حَرَامٌ لِّتَفْتَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ لَا يُفْلِحُونَ
English: Sahih International
And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, "This is lawful and this is unlawful," to invent falsehood about Allah. Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allah will not succeed.
English: Transliteration
Wala taqooloo lima tasifu alsinatukumu alkathiba hatha halalun wahatha haramun litaftaroo AAala Allahi alkathiba inna allatheena yaftaroona AAala Allahi alkathiba la yuflihoona
French: Hamidullah
Et ne dites pas, conformément aux mensonges proférés par vos langues: «Ceci est licite, et cela est illicite», pour forger le mensonge contre Allah. Certes, ceux qui forgent le mensonge contre Allah ne réussiront pas.
16.117
مَتَٰعٌ قَلِيلٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
English: Sahih International
[It is but] a brief enjoyment, and they will have a painful punishment.
English: Transliteration
MataAAun qaleelun walahum AAathabun aleemun
French: Hamidullah
Ce sera pour eux une piètre jouissance, mais un douloureux châtiment les attend.
16.118
وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ حَرَّمْنَا مَا قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ وَمَا ظَلَمْنَٰهُمْ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
English: Sahih International
And to those who are Jews We have prohibited that which We related to you before. And We did not wrong them [thereby], but they were wronging themselves.
English: Transliteration
WaAAala allatheena hadoo harramna ma qasasna AAalayka min qablu wama thalamnahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona
French: Hamidullah
Aux Juifs, Nous avions interdit ce que Nous t'avons déjà relaté. Nous ne leur avons fait aucun tort; mais ils se faisaient du tort à eux-mêmes.
16.119
ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا۟ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَٰلَةٍ ثُمَّ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
English: Sahih International
Then, indeed your Lord, to those who have done wrong out of ignorance and then repent after that and correct themselves - indeed, your Lord, thereafter, is Forgiving and Merciful.
English: Transliteration
Thumma inna rabbaka lillatheena AAamiloo alssooa bijahalatin thumma taboo min baAAdi thalika waaslahoo inna rabbaka min baAAdiha laghafoorun raheemun
French: Hamidullah
Puis ton Seigneur envers ceux qui ont commis le mal par ignorance, et se sont par la suite repentis et ont amélioré leur conduite, ton Seigneur, après cela est certes Pardonneur et Miséricordieux.
16.120
إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ كَانَ أُمَّةً قَانِتًا لِّلَّهِ حَنِيفًا وَلَمْ يَكُ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
English: Sahih International
Indeed, Abraham was a [comprehensive] leader, devoutly obedient to Allah, inclining toward truth, and he was not of those who associate others with Allah.
English: Transliteration
Inna ibraheema kana ommatan qanitan lillahi haneefan walam yaku mina almushrikeena
French: Hamidullah
Abraham était un guide ('Umma) parfait. Il était soumis à Allah, voué exclusivement à Lui et il n'était point du nombre des associateurs.
