Sura 16 - النحل (An-Nahl) - The Bee

16.51
وَقَالَ ٱللَّهُ لَا تَتَّخِذُوٓا۟ إِلَٰهَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ ۖ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ ۖ فَإِيَّٰىَ فَٱرْهَبُونِ
English: Sahih International
And Allah has said, "Do not take for yourselves two deities. He is but one God, so fear only Me."
English: Transliteration
Waqala Allahu la tattakhithoo ilahayni ithnayni innama huwa ilahun wahidun faiyyaya fairhabooni
French: Hamidullah
Allah dit: «Ne prenez pas deux divinités. Il n'est qu'un Dieu unique. Donc, ne craignez que Moi».
16.52
وَلَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَهُ ٱلدِّينُ وَاصِبًا ۚ أَفَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ تَتَّقُونَ
English: Sahih International
And to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and to Him is [due] worship constantly. Then is it other than Allah that you fear?
English: Transliteration
Walahu ma fee alssamawati waalardi walahu alddeenu wasiban afaghayra Allahi tattaqoona
French: Hamidullah
C'est à Lui qu'appartient ce qui est dans les cieux et sur la terre; c'est à Lui que l'obéissance perpétuelle est due. Craindriez-vous donc, d'autres qu'Allah?
16.53
وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ ٱلضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْـَٔرُونَ
English: Sahih International
And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allah. Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help.
English: Transliteration
Wama bikum min niAAmatin famina Allahi thumma itha massakumu alddurru failayhi tajaroona
French: Hamidullah
Et tout ce que vous avez comme bienfait provient d'Allah. Puis quand le malheur vous touche, c'est Lui que vous implorez à haute voix.
16.54
ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ ٱلضُّرَّ عَنكُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ
English: Sahih International
Then when He removes the adversity from you, at once a party of you associates others with their Lord
English: Transliteration
Thumma itha kashafa alddurra AAankum itha fareequn minkum birabbihim yushrikoona
French: Hamidullah
Et une fois qu'Il a dissipé votre malheur, voilà qu'une partie d'entre vous se mettent à donner des associés à leur Seigneur,
16.55
لِيَكْفُرُوا۟ بِمَآ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْ ۚ فَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ ۖ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
English: Sahih International
So they will deny what We have given them. Then enjoy yourselves, for you are going to know.
English: Transliteration
Liyakfuroo bima ataynahum fatamattaAAoo fasawfa taAAlamoona
French: Hamidullah
méconnaissant ainsi ce que Nous leur avons donné. Jouissez donc [pour un temps!] Bientôt vous saurez!
16.56
وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ نَصِيبًا مِّمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ ۗ تَٱللَّهِ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمْ تَفْتَرُونَ
English: Sahih International
And they assign to what they do not know a portion of that which We have provided them. By Allah, you will surely be questioned about what you used to invent.
English: Transliteration
WayajAAaloona lima la yaAAlamoona naseeban mimma razaqnahum taAllahi latusalunna AAamma kuntum taftaroona
French: Hamidullah
Et ils assignent une partie [des biens] que Nous leur avons attribués à [des idoles] qu'ils ne connaissent pas. Par Allah! Vous serez certes interrogés sur ce que vous inventiez.
16.57
وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِلَّهِ ٱلْبَنَٰتِ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ ۙ وَلَهُم مَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
English: Sahih International
And they attribute to Allah daughters - exalted is He - and for them is what they desire.
English: Transliteration
WayajAAaloona lillahi albanati subhanahu walahum ma yashtahoona
French: Hamidullah
Et ils assignent à Allah des filles. Gloire et pureté à Lui! Et à eux-mêmes, cependant, (ils assignent) ce qu'ils désirent (des fils).
16.58
وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِٱلْأُنثَىٰ ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُۥ مُسْوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ
English: Sahih International
And when one of them is informed of [the birth of] a female, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.
English: Transliteration
Waitha bushshira ahaduhum bialontha thalla wajhuhu muswaddan wahuwa katheemun
French: Hamidullah
Et lorsqu'on annonce à l'un d'eux une fille, son visage s'assombrit et une rage profonde [l'envahit].
16.59
يَتَوَٰرَىٰ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ مِن سُوٓءِ مَا بُشِّرَ بِهِۦٓ ۚ أَيُمْسِكُهُۥ عَلَىٰ هُونٍ أَمْ يَدُسُّهُۥ فِى ٱلتُّرَابِ ۗ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ
English: Sahih International
He hides himself from the people because of the ill of which he has been informed. Should he keep it in humiliation or bury it in the ground? Unquestionably, evil is what they decide.
English: Transliteration
Yatawara mina alqawmi min sooi ma bushshira bihi ayumsikuhu AAala hoonin am yadussuhu fee altturabi ala saa ma yahkumoona
French: Hamidullah
Il se cache des gens, à cause du malheur qu'on lui a annoncé. Doit-il la garder malgré la honte ou l'enfouira-t-il dans la terre? Combien est mauvais leur jugement!
16.60
لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ مَثَلُ ٱلسَّوْءِ ۖ وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْمَثَلُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
English: Sahih International
For those who do not believe in the Hereafter is the description of evil; and for Allah is the highest attribute. And He is Exalted in Might, the Wise.
English: Transliteration
Lillatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati mathalu alssawi walillahi almathalu alaAAla wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
French: Hamidullah
C'est à ceux qui ne croient pas en l'au-delà que revient le mauvais qualificatif (qu'ils ont attribué à Allah). Tandis qu'à Allah [Seul] est le qualificatif suprême. Et c'est Lui le Tout Puissant, le Sage.
