Sura 17 - الإسراء (Al-Israa) - The Night Journey

17.101
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ تِسْعَ ءَايَٰتٍۭ بَيِّنَٰتٍ ۖ فَسْـَٔلْ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ إِذْ جَآءَهُمْ فَقَالَ لَهُۥ فِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّى لَأَظُنُّكَ يَٰمُوسَىٰ مَسْحُورًا
English: Sahih International
And We had certainly given Moses nine evident signs, so ask the Children of Israel [about] when he came to them and Pharaoh said to him, "Indeed I think, O Moses, that you are affected by magic."
English: Transliteration
Walaqad atayna moosa tisAAa ayatin bayyinatin faisal banee israeela ith jaahum faqala lahu firAAawnu innee laathunnuka ya moosa mashooran
French: Hamidullah
Et certes, Nous donnâmes à Moïse neuf miracles évidents. Demande donc aux Enfants d'Israël, lorsqu'il leur vint et que Pharaon lui dit: «O Moïse, je pense que tu es ensorcelé».
17.102
قَالَ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَآ أَنزَلَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِلَّا رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ بَصَآئِرَ وَإِنِّى لَأَظُنُّكَ يَٰفِرْعَوْنُ مَثْبُورًا
English: Sahih International
[Moses] said, "You have already known that none has sent down these [signs] except the Lord of the heavens and the earth as evidence, and indeed I think, O Pharaoh, that you are destroyed."
English: Transliteration
Qala laqad AAalimta ma anzala haolai illa rabbu alssamawati waalardi basaira wainnee laathunnuka ya firAAawnu mathbooran
French: Hamidullah
Il dit: «Tu sais fort bien que ces choses [les miracles], seul le Seigneur des cieux et de la terre les a fait descendre comme autant de preuves illuminantes; et certes, O Pharaon, je te crois perdu».
17.103
فَأَرَادَ أَن يَسْتَفِزَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ جَمِيعًا
English: Sahih International
So he intended to drive them from the land, but We drowned him and those with him all together.
English: Transliteration
Faarada an yastafizzahum mina alardi faaghraqnahu waman maAAahu jameeAAan
French: Hamidullah
[Pharaon] voulut donc les expulser du pays. Alors Nous les noyâmes tous, lui et ceux qui étaient avec lui.
17.104
وَقُلْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ لِبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱسْكُنُوا۟ ٱلْأَرْضَ فَإِذَا جَآءَ وَعْدُ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ جِئْنَا بِكُمْ لَفِيفًا
English: Sahih International
And We said after Pharaoh to the Children of Israel, "Dwell in the land, and when there comes the promise of the Hereafter, We will bring you forth in [one] gathering."
English: Transliteration
Waqulna min baAAdihi libanee israeela oskunoo alarda faitha jaa waAAdu alakhirati jina bikum lafeefan
French: Hamidullah
Et après lui, Nous dîmes aux Enfants d'Israël: «Habitez la terre». Puis, lorsque viendra la promesse de la (vie) dernière, Nous vous ferons venir en foule.
17.105
وَبِٱلْحَقِّ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ وَبِٱلْحَقِّ نَزَلَ ۗ وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ إِلَّا مُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا
English: Sahih International
And with the truth We have sent the Qur'an down, and with the truth it has descended. And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner.
English: Transliteration
Wabialhaqqi anzalnahu wabialhaqqi nazala wama arsalnaka illa mubashshiran wanatheeran
French: Hamidullah
Et c'est en toute vérité que Nous l'avons fait descendre (le Coran), et avec la vérité il est descendu, et Nous ne t'avons envoyé qu'en annonciateur et avertisseur.
17.106
وَقُرْءَانًا فَرَقْنَٰهُ لِتَقْرَأَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ مُكْثٍ وَنَزَّلْنَٰهُ تَنزِيلًا
English: Sahih International
And [it is] a Qur'an which We have separated [by intervals] that you might recite it to the people over a prolonged period. And We have sent it down progressively.
English: Transliteration
Waquranan faraqnahu litaqraahu AAala alnnasi AAala mukthin wanazzalnahu tanzeelan
French: Hamidullah
(Nous avons fait descendre) un Coran que Nous avons fragmenté, pour que tu le lises lentement aux gens. Et Nous l'avons fait descendre graduellement.
17.107
قُلْ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِهِۦٓ أَوْ لَا تُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ مِن قَبْلِهِۦٓ إِذَا يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ يَخِرُّونَ لِلْأَذْقَانِ سُجَّدًا
English: Sahih International
Say, "Believe in it or do not believe. Indeed, those who were given knowledge before it - when it is recited to them, they fall upon their faces in prostration,
English: Transliteration
Qul aminoo bihi aw la tuminoo inna allatheena ootoo alAAilma min qablihi itha yutla AAalayhim yakhirroona lilathqani sujjadan
French: Hamidullah
Dis: «Croyez-y ou n'y croyez pas. Ceux à qui la connaissance a été donnée avant cela, lorsqu'on le leur récite, tombent, prosternés, le menton contre terre
17.108
وَيَقُولُونَ سُبْحَٰنَ رَبِّنَآ إِن كَانَ وَعْدُ رَبِّنَا لَمَفْعُولًا
English: Sahih International
And they say, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, the promise of our Lord has been fulfilled."
English: Transliteration
Wayaqooloona subhana rabbina in kana waAAdu rabbina lamafAAoolan
French: Hamidullah
et disent: «Gloire à notre Seigneur! La promesse de notre Seigneur est assurément accomplie».
17.109
وَيَخِرُّونَ لِلْأَذْقَانِ يَبْكُونَ وَيَزِيدُهُمْ خُشُوعًا ۩
English: Sahih International
And they fall upon their faces weeping, and the Qur'an increases them in humble submission.
English: Transliteration
Wayakhirroona lilathqani yabkoona wayazeeduhum khushooAAan
French: Hamidullah
Et ils tombent sur leur menton, pleurant, et cela augmente leur humilité.
17.110
قُلِ ٱدْعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ أَوِ ٱدْعُوا۟ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنَ ۖ أَيًّا مَّا تَدْعُوا۟ فَلَهُ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ ۚ وَلَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا وَٱبْتَغِ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ سَبِيلًا
English: Sahih International
Say, "Call upon Allah or call upon the Most Merciful. Whichever [name] you call - to Him belong the best names." And do not recite [too] loudly in your prayer or [too] quietly but seek between that an [intermediate] way.
English: Transliteration
Quli odAAoo Allaha awi odAAoo alrrahmana ayyan ma tadAAoo falahu alasmao alhusna wala tajhar bisalatika wala tukhafit biha waibtaghi bayna thalika sabeelan
French: Hamidullah
Dis: «Invoquez Allah, ou invoquez le Tout Miséricordieux. Quel que soit le nom par lequel vous l'appelez, Il a les plus beaux noms. Et dans ta Salât, ne récite pas à voix haute; et ne l'y abaisse pas trop, mais cherche le juste milieu entre les deux».
