17.21
ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۚ وَلَلْءَاخِرَةُ أَكْبَرُ دَرَجَٰتٍ وَأَكْبَرُ تَفْضِيلًا
English: Sahih International
Look how We have favored [in provision] some of them over others. But the Hereafter is greater in degrees [of difference] and greater in distinction.
English: Transliteration
Onthur kayfa faddalna baAAdahum AAala baAAdin walalakhiratu akbaru darajatin waakbaru tafdeelan
French: Hamidullah
Regarde comment Nous favorisons certains sur d'autres. Et dans l'au-delà, il y a des rangs plus élevés et plus privilégiés.
17.22
لَّا تَجْعَلْ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَقْعُدَ مَذْمُومًا مَّخْذُولًا
English: Sahih International
Do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity and [thereby] become censured and forsaken.
English: Transliteration
La tajAAal maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara fataqAAuda mathmooman makhthoolan
French: Hamidullah
N'assigne point à Allah d'autre divinité; sinon tu te trouveras méprisé et abandonné.
17.23
وَقَضَىٰ رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِيَّاهُ وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَٰنًا ۚ إِمَّا يَبْلُغَنَّ عِندَكَ ٱلْكِبَرَ أَحَدُهُمَآ أَوْ كِلَاهُمَا فَلَا تَقُل لَّهُمَآ أُفٍّ وَلَا تَنْهَرْهُمَا وَقُل لَّهُمَا قَوْلًا كَرِيمًا
English: Sahih International
And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word.
English: Transliteration
Waqada rabbuka alla taAAbudoo illa iyyahu wabialwalidayni ihsanan imma yablughanna AAindaka alkibara ahaduhuma aw kilahuma fala taqul lahuma offin wala tanharhuma waqul lahuma qawlan kareeman
French: Hamidullah
Et ton Seigneur a décrété: «N'adorez que Lui; et (marquez) de la bonté envers les père et mère: si l'un d'eux ou tous deux doivent atteindre la vieillesse auprès de toi, alors ne leur dis point: «Fi!» et ne les brusque pas, mais adresse-leur des paroles respectueuses.
17.24
وَٱخْفِضْ لَهُمَا جَنَاحَ ٱلذُّلِّ مِنَ ٱلرَّحْمَةِ وَقُل رَّبِّ ٱرْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِى صَغِيرًا
English: Sahih International
And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."
English: Transliteration
Waikhfid lahuma janaha alththulli mina alrrahmati waqul rabbi irhamhuma kama rabbayanee sagheeran
French: Hamidullah
et par miséricorde, abaisse pour eux l'aile de l'humilité, et dis: «O mon Seigneur, fais-leur, à tous deux, miséricorde comme ils m'ont élevé tout petit».
17.25
رَّبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا فِى نُفُوسِكُمْ ۚ إِن تَكُونُوا۟ صَٰلِحِينَ فَإِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لِلْأَوَّٰبِينَ غَفُورًا
English: Sahih International
Your Lord is most knowing of what is within yourselves. If you should be righteous [in intention] - then indeed He is ever, to the often returning [to Him], Forgiving.
English: Transliteration
Rabbukum aAAlamu bima fee nufoosikum in takoonoo saliheena fainnahu kana lilawwabeena ghafooran
French: Hamidullah
Votre Seigneur connaît mieux ce qu'il y a dans vos âmes. Si vous êtes bons, Il est certes Pardonneur pour ceux qui Lui reviennent se repentant.
17.26
وَءَاتِ ذَا ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ حَقَّهُۥ وَٱلْمِسْكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَلَا تُبَذِّرْ تَبْذِيرًا
English: Sahih International
And give the relative his right, and [also] the poor and the traveler, and do not spend wastefully.
English: Transliteration
Waati tha alqurba haqqahu waalmiskeena waibna alssabeeli wala tubaththir tabtheeran
French: Hamidullah
«Et donne au proche parent ce qui lui est dû ainsi qu'au pauvre et au voyageur (en détresse). Et ne gaspille pas indûment,
17.27
إِنَّ ٱلْمُبَذِّرِينَ كَانُوٓا۟ إِخْوَٰنَ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ ۖ وَكَانَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ لِرَبِّهِۦ كَفُورًا
English: Sahih International
Indeed, the wasteful are brothers of the devils, and ever has Satan been to his Lord ungrateful.
English: Transliteration
Inna almubaththireena kanoo ikhwana alshshayateeni wakana alshshaytanu lirabbihi kafooran
French: Hamidullah
car les gaspilleurs sont les frères des diables; et le Diable est très ingrat envers son Seigneur.
17.28
وَإِمَّا تُعْرِضَنَّ عَنْهُمُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ رَحْمَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكَ تَرْجُوهَا فَقُل لَّهُمْ قَوْلًا مَّيْسُورًا
English: Sahih International
And if you [must] turn away from the needy awaiting mercy from your Lord which you expect, then speak to them a gentle word.
English: Transliteration
Waimma tuAAridanna AAanhumu ibtighaa rahmatin min rabbika tarjooha faqul lahum qawlan maysooran
French: Hamidullah
Si tu t'écartes d'eux à la recherche d'une miséricorde de Ton Seigneur, que tu espères, adresse-leur une parole bienveillante.
17.29
وَلَا تَجْعَلْ يَدَكَ مَغْلُولَةً إِلَىٰ عُنُقِكَ وَلَا تَبْسُطْهَا كُلَّ ٱلْبَسْطِ فَتَقْعُدَ مَلُومًا مَّحْسُورًا
English: Sahih International
And do not make your hand [as] chained to your neck or extend it completely and [thereby] become blamed and insolvent.
English: Transliteration
Wala tajAAal yadaka maghloolatan ila AAunuqika wala tabsutha kulla albasti fataqAAuda malooman mahsooran
French: Hamidullah
Ne porte pas ta main enchaînée à ton cou [par avarice], et ne l'étend pas non plus trop largement, sinon tu te trouveras blâmé et chagriné.
17.30
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهِۦ خَبِيرًۢا بَصِيرًا
English: Sahih International
Indeed, your Lord extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. Indeed He is ever, concerning His servants, Acquainted and Seeing.
English: Transliteration
Inna rabbaka yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao wayaqdiru innahu kana biAAibadihi khabeeran baseeran
French: Hamidullah
En vérité ton Seigneur étend Ses dons largement à qu'Il veut ou les accorde avec parcimonie. Il est, sur Ses serviteurs, Parfaitement Connaisseur et Clairvoyant.
