Sura 21 - الأنبياء (Al-Anbiyaa) - The Prophets

21.31
وَجَعَلْنَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجًا سُبُلًا لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
English: Sahih International
And We placed within the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with them, and We made therein [mountain] passes [as] roads that they might be guided.
English: Transliteration
WajaAAalna fee alardi rawasiya an tameeda bihim wajaAAalna feeha fijajan subulan laAAallahum yahtadoona
French: Hamidullah
Et Nous avons placé des montagnes fermes dans la terre, afin qu'elle ne s'ébranle pas en les [entraînant]. Et Nous y avons placé des défilés servant de chemins afin qu'ils se guident.
21.32
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ سَقْفًا مَّحْفُوظًا ۖ وَهُمْ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِهَا مُعْرِضُونَ
English: Sahih International
And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away.
English: Transliteration
WajaAAalna alssamaa saqfan mahfoothan wahum AAan ayatiha muAAridoona
French: Hamidullah
Et Nous avons fait du ciel un toit protégé. Et cependant ils se détournent de ses merveilles.
21.33
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ ۖ كُلٌّ فِى فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ
English: Sahih International
And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming.
English: Transliteration
Wahuwa allathee khalaqa allayla waalnnahara waalshshamsa waalqamara kullun fee falakin yasbahoona
French: Hamidullah
Et c'est Lui qui a créé la nuit et le jour, le soleil et la lune; chacun voguant dans une orbite.
21.34
وَمَا جَعَلْنَا لِبَشَرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ ٱلْخُلْدَ ۖ أَفَإِي۟ن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلْخَٰلِدُونَ
English: Sahih International
And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth]; so if you die - would they be eternal?
English: Transliteration
Wama jaAAalna libasharin min qablika alkhulda afain mitta fahumu alkhalidoona
French: Hamidullah
Et Nous n'avons attribué l'immortalité à nul homme avant toi. Est-ce que si tu meurs, toi, ils seront, eux, éternels?
21.35
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ ۗ وَنَبْلُوكُم بِٱلشَّرِّ وَٱلْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً ۖ وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ
English: Sahih International
Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned.
English: Transliteration
Kullu nafsin thaiqatu almawti wanablookum bialshsharri waalkhayri fitnatan wailayna turjaAAoona
French: Hamidullah
Toute âme doit goûter la mort. Nous vous éprouverons par le mal et par le bien [à titre] de tentation. Et c'est à Nous que vous serez ramenés.
21.36
وَإِذَا رَءَاكَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى يَذْكُرُ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَهُم بِذِكْرِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ هُمْ كَٰفِرُونَ
English: Sahih International
And when those who disbelieve see you, [O Muhammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one who insults your gods?" And they are, at the mention of the Most Merciful, disbelievers.
English: Transliteration
Waitha raaka allatheena kafaroo in yattakhithoonaka illa huzuwan ahatha allathee yathkuru alihatakum wahum bithikri alrrahmani hum kafiroona
French: Hamidullah
Quand les mécréants te voient, ils ne te prennent qu'en dérision (disant): «Quoi! Est-ce-là celui qui médit de vos divinités?» Et ils nient [tout] rappel du Tout Miséricordieux.
21.37
خُلِقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِنْ عَجَلٍ ۚ سَأُو۟رِيكُمْ ءَايَٰتِى فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونِ
English: Sahih International
Man was created of haste. I will show you My signs, so do not impatiently urge Me.
English: Transliteration
Khuliqa alinsanu min AAajalin saoreekum ayatee fala tastaAAjiloona
French: Hamidullah
L'homme a été créé prompt dans sa nature. Je vous montrerai Mes signes [la réalisation de Mes menaces]. Ne me hâtez donc pas.
21.38
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
English: Sahih International
And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"
English: Transliteration
Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena
French: Hamidullah
Et ils disent: «A quand cette promesse si vous êtes véridiques?»
21.39
لَوْ يَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ حِينَ لَا يَكُفُّونَ عَن وُجُوهِهِمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا عَن ظُهُورِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
English: Sahih International
If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not avert the Fire from their faces or from their backs and they will not be aided...
English: Transliteration
Law yaAAlamu allatheena kafaroo heena la yakuffoona AAan wujoohihimu alnnara wala AAan thuhoorihim wala hum yunsaroona
French: Hamidullah
Si [seulement] les mécréants connaissaient le moment où ils ne pourront empêcher le feu de leurs visages ni de leurs dos, et où ils ne seront point secourus.
21.40
بَلْ تَأْتِيهِم بَغْتَةً فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ
English: Sahih International
Rather, it will come to them unexpectedly and bewilder them, and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be reprieved.
English: Transliteration
Bal tateehim baghtatan fatabhatuhum fala yastateeAAoona raddaha wala hum yuntharoona
French: Hamidullah
Mais non, cela leur viendra subitement et ils seront alors stupéfaits; ils ne pourront pas le repousser et on ne leur donnera pas de répit.
