21.51
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ رُشْدَهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا بِهِۦ عَٰلِمِينَ
English: Sahih International
And We had certainly given Abraham his sound judgement before, and We were of him well-Knowing
English: Transliteration
Walaqad atayna ibraheema rushdahu min qablu wakunna bihi AAalimeena
French: Hamidullah
En effet, Nous avons mis auparavant Abraham sur le droit chemin. Et Nous en avions bonne connaissance.
21.52
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلتَّمَاثِيلُ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنتُمْ لَهَا عَٰكِفُونَ
English: Sahih International
When he said to his father and his people, "What are these statues to which you are devoted?"
English: Transliteration
Ith qala liabeehi waqawmihi ma hathihi alttamatheelu allatee antum laha AAakifoona
French: Hamidullah
Quand il dit à son père et à son peuple: «Que sont ces statues auxquelles vous vous attachez?»
21.53
قَالُوا۟ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا لَهَا عَٰبِدِينَ
English: Sahih International
They said, "We found our fathers worshippers of them."
English: Transliteration
Qaloo wajadna abaana laha AAabideena
French: Hamidullah
ils dirent: «Nous avons trouvé nos ancêtres les adorant».
21.54
قَالَ لَقَدْ كُنتُمْ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمْ فِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
English: Sahih International
He said, "You were certainly, you and your fathers, in manifest error."
English: Transliteration
Qala laqad kuntum antum waabaokum fee dalalin mubeenin
French: Hamidullah
Il dit: «Certainement, vous avez été, vous et vos ancêtres, dans un égarement évident».
21.55
قَالُوٓا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ أَمْ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱللَّٰعِبِينَ
English: Sahih International
They said, "Have you come to us with truth, or are you of those who jest?"
English: Transliteration
Qaloo ajitana bialhaqqi am anta mina allaAAibeena
French: Hamidullah
Ils dirent: «Viens-tu à nous avec la vérité ou plaisantes-tu?»
21.56
قَالَ بَل رَّبُّكُمْ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا۠ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ
English: Sahih International
He said, "[No], rather, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who created them, and I, to that, am of those who testify.
English: Transliteration
Qala bal rabbukum rabbu alssamawati waalardi allathee fatarahunna waana AAala thalikum mina alshshahideena
French: Hamidullah
Il dit: «Mais votre Seigneur est plutôt le Seigneur des cieux et de la terre, et c'est Lui qui les a créés. Et je suis un de ceux qui en témoignent.
21.57
وَتَٱللَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنَّ أَصْنَٰمَكُم بَعْدَ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ مُدْبِرِينَ
English: Sahih International
And [I swear] by Allah, I will surely plan against your idols after you have turned and gone away."
English: Transliteration
WataAllahi laakeedanna asnamakum baAAda an tuwalloo mudbireena
French: Hamidullah
Et par Allah! Je ruserai certes contre vos idoles une fois que vous serez partis».
21.58
فَجَعَلَهُمْ جُذَٰذًا إِلَّا كَبِيرًا لَّهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ يَرْجِعُونَ
English: Sahih International
So he made them into fragments, except a large one among them, that they might return to it [and question].
English: Transliteration
FajaAAalahum juthathan illa kabeeran lahum laAAallahum ilayhi yarjiAAoona
French: Hamidullah
Il les mit en pièces, hormis [la statue] la plus grande. Peut-être qu'ils reviendraient vers elle.
21.59
قَالُوا۟ مَن فَعَلَ هَٰذَا بِـَٔالِهَتِنَآ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
English: Sahih International
They said, "Who has done this to our gods? Indeed, he is of the wrongdoers."
English: Transliteration
Qaloo man faAAala hatha bialihatina innahu lamina alththalimeena
French: Hamidullah
Ils dirent: «Qui a fait cela à nos divinités? Il est certes parmi les injustes».
21.60
قَالُوا۟ سَمِعْنَا فَتًى يَذْكُرُهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُۥٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ
English: Sahih International
They said, "We heard a young man mention them who is called Abraham."
English: Transliteration
Qaloo samiAAna fatan yathkuruhum yuqalu lahu ibraheemu
French: Hamidullah
(Certains) dirent: «Nous avons entendu un jeune homme médire d'elles; il s'appelle Abraham».
