Sura 22 - الحج (Al-Hajj) - The Pilgrimage

22.41
ٱلَّذِينَ إِن مَّكَّنَّٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَوُا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَمَرُوا۟ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَنَهَوْا۟ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ ۗ وَلِلَّهِ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْأُمُورِ
English: Sahih International
[And they are] those who, if We give them authority in the land, establish prayer and give zakah and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. And to Allah belongs the outcome of [all] matters.
English: Transliteration
Allatheena in makkannahum fee alardi aqamoo alssalata waatawoo alzzakata waamaroo bialmaAAroofi wanahaw AAani almunkari walillahi AAaqibatu alomoori
French: Hamidullah
ceux qui, si Nous leur donnons la puissance sur terre, accomplissent la Salât, acquittent la Zakât, ordonnent le convenable et interdisent le blâmable. Cependant, l'issue finale de toute chose appartient à Allah.
22.42
وَإِن يُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَثَمُودُ
English: Sahih International
And if they deny you, [O Muhammad] - so, before them, did the people of Noah and 'Aad and Thamud deny [their prophets],
English: Transliteration
Wain yukaththibooka faqad kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin waAAadun wathamoodu
French: Hamidullah
Et s'ils te traitent de menteur, [sache que] le peuple de Noé, les 'Aad, les Tamûd avant eux, ont aussi crié au mensonge (à l'égard de leurs messagers),
22.43
وَقَوْمُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ
English: Sahih International
And the people of Abraham and the people of Lot
English: Transliteration
Waqawmu ibraheema waqawmu lootin
French: Hamidullah
de même que le peuple d'Abraham, le peuple de Lot.
22.44
وَأَصْحَٰبُ مَدْيَنَ ۖ وَكُذِّبَ مُوسَىٰ فَأَمْلَيْتُ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ
English: Sahih International
And the inhabitants of Madyan. And Moses was denied, so I prolonged enjoyment for the disbelievers; then I seized them, and how [terrible] was My reproach.
English: Transliteration
Waashabu madyana wakuththiba moosa faamlaytu lilkafireena thumma akhathtuhum fakayfa kana nakeeri
French: Hamidullah
et les gens de Madyan. Et Moïse fut traité de menteur. Puis, J'ai donné un répit aux mécréants; ensuite Je les ai saisis. Et quelle fut Ma réprobation!
22.45
فَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَٰهَا وَهِىَ ظَالِمَةٌ فَهِىَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا وَبِئْرٍ مُّعَطَّلَةٍ وَقَصْرٍ مَّشِيدٍ
English: Sahih International
And how many a city did We destroy while it was committing wrong - so it is [now] fallen into ruin - and [how many] an abandoned well and [how many] a lofty palace.
English: Transliteration
Fakaayyin min qaryatin ahlaknaha wahiya thalimatun fahiya khawiyatun AAala AAurooshiha wabirin muAAattalatin waqasrin masheedin
French: Hamidullah
Que de cités, donc, avons-Nous fait périr, parce qu'elles commettaient des tyrannies. Elles sont réduites à des toits écroulés: Que de puits désertés! Que de palais édifiés (et désertés aussi)!
22.46
أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ يَعْقِلُونَ بِهَآ أَوْ ءَاذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۖ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَعْمَى ٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ وَلَٰكِن تَعْمَى ٱلْقُلُوبُ ٱلَّتِى فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ
English: Sahih International
So have they not traveled through the earth and have hearts by which to reason and ears by which to hear? For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts.
English: Transliteration
Afalam yaseeroo fee alardi fatakoona lahum quloobun yaAAqiloona biha aw athanun yasmaAAoona biha fainnaha la taAAma alabsaru walakin taAAma alquloobu allatee fee alssudoori
French: Hamidullah
Que ne voyagent-ils sur la terre afin d'avoir des cœurs pour comprendre, et des oreilles pour entendre? Car ce ne sont pas les yeux qui s'aveuglent, mais, ce sont les cœurs dans les poitrines qui s'aveuglent.
22.47
وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِٱلْعَذَابِ وَلَن يُخْلِفَ ٱللَّهُ وَعْدَهُۥ ۚ وَإِنَّ يَوْمًا عِندَ رَبِّكَ كَأَلْفِ سَنَةٍ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَ
English: Sahih International
And they urge you to hasten the punishment. But Allah will never fail in His promise. And indeed, a day with your Lord is like a thousand years of those which you count.
English: Transliteration
WayastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi walan yukhlifa Allahu waAAdahu wainna yawman AAinda rabbika kaalfi sanatin mimma taAAuddoona
French: Hamidullah
Et ils te demandent de hâter [l'arrivée] du châtiment. Jamais Allah ne manquera à Sa promesse. Cependant, un jour auprès de ton Seigneur, équivaut à mille ans de ce que vous comptez.
22.48
وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَمْلَيْتُ لَهَا وَهِىَ ظَالِمَةٌ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهَا وَإِلَىَّ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
English: Sahih International
And for how many a city did I prolong enjoyment while it was committing wrong. Then I seized it, and to Me is the [final] destination.
English: Transliteration
Wakaayyin min qaryatin amlaytu laha wahiya thalimatun thumma akhathtuha wailayya almaseeru
French: Hamidullah
A combien de cités n'ai-Je pas donné répit alors qu'elles commettaient des tyrannies? Ensuite, Je les ais saisies. Vers Moi est le devenir.
22.49
قُلْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
English: Sahih International
Say, "O people, I am only to you a clear warner."
English: Transliteration
Qul ya ayyuha alnnasu innama ana lakum natheerun mubeenun
French: Hamidullah
Dis: «O hommes! Je ne suis pour vous, en vérité, qu'un avertisseur explicite».
22.50
فَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ
English: Sahih International
And those who have believed and done righteous deeds - for them is forgiveness and noble provision.
English: Transliteration
Faallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum maghfiratun warizqun kareemun
French: Hamidullah
Ceux donc qui croient et font de bonnes œuvres auront pardon et faveurs généreuses,
