54.1   

English: Sahih International
The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two].

English: Transliteration
Iqtarabati alssaAAatu wainshaqqa alqamaru

French: Hamidullah
L'Heure approche et la Lune s'est fendue.




54.2   

English: Sahih International
And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic."

English: Transliteration
Wain yaraw ayatan yuAAridoo wayaqooloo sihrun mustamirrun

French: Hamidullah
Et s'ils voient un prodige, ils s'en détournent et disent: «Une magie persistante».




54.3   

English: Sahih International
And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement.

English: Transliteration
Wakaththaboo waittabaAAoo ahwaahum wakullu amrin mustaqirrun

French: Hamidullah
Et ils [le] traitent de mensonge et suivent leurs propres impulsions, or chaque chose arrivera à son terme [et son but].




54.4

And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence -

Walaqad jaahum mina alanbai ma feehi muzdajarun

French: Hamidullah
Ils ont pourtant reçu comme nouvelles de quoi les empêcher (du mal);




54.5   

English: Sahih International
Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them].

English: Transliteration
Hikmatun balighatun fama tughnee alnnuthuru

French: Hamidullah
[Cela est] une sagesse parfaite. Mais les avertissements ne [leur] servent à rien.




54.6   

English: Sahih International
So leave them, [O Muhammad]. The Day the Caller calls to something forbidding,

Fatawalla AAanhum yawma yadAAu alddaAAi ila shayin nukurin

French: Hamidullah
Détourne-toi d'eux. Le jour où l'appeleur appellera vers une chose affreuse,




54.7

Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading,

KhushshaAAan absaruhum yakhrujoona mina alajdathi kaannahum jaradun muntashirun

French: Hamidullah
les regards baissés, ils sortiront des tombes comme des sauterelles éparpillées,




54.8   

English: Sahih International
Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day."

English: Transliteration
MuhtiAAeena ila alddaAAi yaqoolu alkafiroona hatha yawmun AAasirun

French: Hamidullah
courant, le cou tendu, vers l'appeleur. Les mécréants diront: «Voilà un jour difficile».




54.9   

English: Sahih International
The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled.

English: Transliteration
Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin fakaththaboo AAabdana waqaloo majnoonun waizdujira

French: Hamidullah
Avant eux, le peuple de Noé avait crié au mensonge. Ils traitèrent Notre serviteur de menteur et dirent: «C'est un possédé!» et il fut repoussé.




54.10   

English: Sahih International
So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help."

English: Transliteration
FadaAAa rabbahu annee maghloobun faintasir

French: Hamidullah
Il invoqua donc son Seigneur: «Moi, je suis vaincu. Fais triompher (Ta cause)».
